What's in it
Carnosine
The active ingredient, and the reason this product exists.
Where it's from
A naturally occurring dipeptide, made of two amino acids, beta-alanine and histidine. It's found in animal tissue, particularly muscle and brain. There are no plant sources of it, so the carnosine used here is synthesised to match the form our bodies know, which also keeps the product free of animal ingredients.
Why I'm comfortable using it
Carnosine is the ingredient that started all of this for me. It's a dipeptide, which simply means two amino acids joined together, and it's something the body already makes and recognises. As a peptide, it isn't foreign territory for me. Peptides have been part of the dermal world for years. This particular one was new to me, and once I understood what it was, a naturally occurring compound the body already holds in its own tissue, I was comfortable. I'd still encourage you to read about it yourself, the way I did.
